Keith “One-Time” Thurman (30-1, 22 KO; 1 No Contest) is returning to the boxing ring after a three-year hiatus. The return fight is set for March 12, per Ring magazineagainst Brock Jarvis (22-1, 20 KOs) in Sydney, Australia.

Thurman, 36, is scheduled to meet the media on Wednesday to announce the fight, as well as the co-main event, which will reportedly feature middleweight Michael Zerafa.

Thurman’s last fight was in February 2022, when he scored a unanimous decision victory over current WBA champion Mario Barrios. Thurman was scheduled to fight Tim Tszyu in March 2024, but he pulled out two weeks before the event.

Tszyu defended his WBO 154-pound title against Sebastian Fundora instead, and Fundora pulled out a split decision to become world champion. Due to Thurman’s inactivity, he will need to shake off some rust, and it seems his team believes Jarvis is the right opponent for the occasion.

While Jarvis has an excellent track record, he hasn’t faced high competition. The only worthwhile name on his resume as an opponent is former IBF 140-pound champion Liam Paro, to whom Jarvis lost by first-round KO in October 2022.

Jarvis has fought in an amazing six different weight classes during his four year professional career. He won his most recent middleweight fight over a master named Adrian Rodriguez in December 2024.

Despite his willingness to jump from division to division, Jarvis hasn’t been particularly active lately. Since losing to Paro in 2022, Jarvis has fought just twice.

In short, boxing fans shouldn’t expect to see the version of Thurman that had many putting him on their pound-for-pound lists in 2017. Jarvis is likely to be undersized and a sure test. to help One-Time him determine how much – if anything – he still has left in the tank.

Here’s a look at the upcoming March 2025 headliner schedule for The Ring.
