Barcelona will look to maintain their excellent form in the UEFA Champions League as they make the short trip to Portugal on Tuesday to face struggling Benfica for an automatic place in the last 16.

Hansi Flick’s visitors currently find themselves second in the UCL standings behind leaders Liverpool, having collected five wins and 15 points from their six games so far. But they come into this match on the back of a disappointing home draw in La Liga against Getafe.

Benfica, meanwhile, sit in 10th position, just 3 points behind eighth-placed Lille and on a four-game winning streak in all competitions.

Benfica will face Barcelona on Tuesday, January 21, at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon. The start is set for 20:00 Wet local time in Portugal which also makes it a 20:00 GMT start in UK, a 3pm ET or 12pm PT start in the US and Canada, and a 7am AEDT start time in Australia on Wednesday morning.

Below, we’ll outline the best live TV streaming services to use to watch the match as it happens, wherever you are in the world.

Quick tips for streaming UEFA Champions League matches using a VPN

  • With four variables at play — your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN — your experience and success when streaming Champions League games can vary.
  • If you don’t see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the “search by city or country” option.
  • If you’re having trouble getting the game after you’ve activated your VPN and placed it in the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try to fix quickly. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs — like Roku — don’t have VPN apps that you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you’ll need to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you’re using (like your phone) so that every device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct location of sight.
  • All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their homepage for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after you install a cable network’s sports app, you’ll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on the file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help as both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
  • Remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so make sure you’re using a privacy-first browser to sign in to your services. We usually recommend Brave.
