Stockton Restaurant Week is underway. The event is an opportunity to celebrate the city’s local businesses and diverse culinary scene. For small businesses, like Sakura Hibachi Restaurant, the week serves as a great opportunity to increase exposure and attract new customers to their Pacific Avenue space. “People can come to have a fun teppanyaki experience with the fire show and the knife show, especially the onion volcano,” said manager Binh Ngyuen. “Kids love this place.” Sakura Hibachi is one of 30 restaurants participating in this year’s Stockton Restaurant Week. Ngyuen said the business started during the pandemic, bringing hibachi to people’s homes. It has grown, Nguyen said years since he brought them to a permanent location. He said Restaurant Week was a great opportunity to attract new faces. “I hope to be able to bring in new customers,” he said we’re still basically new here at Miracle Mile, so hopefully we can get some new customers.” The initiative features a variety of cuisines including French, Guatemalan, German, Vietnamese, Japanese and more. Alyssa Saing, a manager at American Waffle Diner on March Lane said they’re also seeing new customers come in during the promotion. “We’re very proud to be participating in restaurant week,” Saing said community.” Stockton Restaurant Week runs from January 17th to 26th. Participating restaurants offer specialties for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
