With a great selection of channels, easy-to-use interface, and best-in-class cloud DVR, YouTube TV at $73 per month is one of the best cable TV replacements. To watch BeIN Sports on the platform, you’ll need its Sports Plus add-on, which costs an additional $11 per month. Read our YouTube TV review.

BeIN is available on Sling TV as part of its Sports Extra add-on for Sling Orange or Sling Blue.

Its Orange and Blue packages start at $40 a month, and you can combine them for a monthly fee of $55 ($60 in some regions), with Sport Extra costing an extra $11 a month. The Orange option gets you one stream, while Blue gives you three. It’s not as comprehensive or as easy to navigate as YouTube, but with a little work, including adding an antenna or an AirTV 2 DVR, it’s an unbeatable value. We’ll also add that the service offers local channels like ABC and CBS in some regions where the monthly fee is $45. Read our Sling TV review.

There’s a lot to like about Fubo. In addition to BeIN Sports, it offers a wide selection of channels, plus its sports focus makes it particularly attractive to soccer fans, as well as NBA, NHL and MLB fans who live in an area served by one of the RSNs of Fubo. It’s also a great choice for NFL fans, as it’s one of three services, along with YouTube TV and Hulu, to offer the NFL Network and optional RedZone. The biggest hole in Fubo’s lineup is the absence of Warner Bros. networks. Discovery, including HGTV, Food Network, Cartoon Network, CNN, TNT and TBS — especially since the latter carry a lot of sports content, especially the NBA, NHL and MLB. Those missing channels and the $80 price tag make it less appealing than YouTube TV for most viewers. Read our Fubo review.

Additionally, BeIN Sports Connect is the network’s independent streaming platform. You can sign in with your cable or streaming service credentials if your provider has BeIN bundled. It allows you to stream live matches and other programs on different devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops and so on).

Be sure to check whether BeIN Sports is included in the specific package or plan you’re considering, as it may be part of a sports package or require an additional subscription.

Quick tips for streaming Ligue 1 football using a VPN

  • With four variables at play — your ISP, browser, video streaming provider and VPN — your experience and success when streaming EPL matches can vary.
  • If you don’t see your desired location as a default option for ExpressVPN, try using the “search by city or country” option.
  • If you’re having trouble getting the game after you’ve enabled your VPN and placed it in the correct viewing area, there are two things you can try for a quick fix. First, log into your streaming service subscription account and make sure the address registered for the account is an address in the correct viewing area. If not, you may need to change the physical address on file with your account. Second, some smart TVs — like Roku — don’t have VPN apps that you can install directly on the device itself. Instead, you’ll need to install the VPN on your router or the mobile hotspot you’re using (like your phone) so that every device on its Wi-Fi network now appears in the correct location of sight.
  • All of the VPN providers we recommend have helpful instructions on their homepage for quickly installing the VPN on your router. In some cases with smart TV services, after you install a cable network’s sports app, you’ll be asked to verify a numeric code or click a link sent to your email address on the file for your smart TV. This is where having a VPN on your router will also help as both devices will appear to be in the correct location.
  • Remember, browsers can often give away a location despite using a VPN, so make sure you’re using a privacy-first browser to sign in to your services. We usually recommend Brave.
