My itinerary for a perfect 48 hours in Las Vegas for a girls trip

  • For a recent girls trip, I created an itinerary to spend the perfect 48 hours in Las Vegas.
  • We got a great hotel on the Las Vegas Strip, went to an adults-only pool club, and rented cabanas.
  • Other highlights included the Bacchanal Buffet, Liquid Pool Hall and Vanderpump a Paris.

I have been planning girls’ trips in Las Vegas since I reached legal gambling age about two decades ago.

These epic escapades have taken many forms, including my wild bachelor party 15 years ago.

However, I recently planned a girls trip to celebrate one of my best friends’ birthday and divorce (yes, she wore a sash for the occasion).

Our group has been traveling to Sin City for decades, and now that we’re in our mid-40s, we have different demands—specifically, more comfort, better food, and a well-balanced schedule.

On this trip, I’d say I found the exact right itinerary for ours 48 hours in Las Vegas.

On Friday, we checked into our hotel on the Strip

When we arrived in Vegas on Friday, we checked right into MGM Resorts’ ARIA. It’s one of mine favorite places to stay in the Belt because it’s centrally located, stylish and equipped – including a massive pool complex.

We wasted no time going downstairs for a dip and spending the rest of the afternoon in the drinking water.

As the sun began to set, we went upstairs to shower and get dressed before heading to the The CosmopolitanBoulevard pool for sunset cocktails and live music.

I love a place that offers a view of the Strip in the evening as the lights start to come on. (Skyfall Lounge at Delano is another great option with a view.)

Then, it was time for a spectacular meal to cap off our first night in the city. We went to the noisy French-Mediterranean restaurant Cathedralwhich felt perfect for a special occasion with its beautiful dining room and sumptuous menu.

Afterwards, we called it a night to prepare for the busy Saturday ahead.

Our second day of travel was filled with fun and food

After a solid night’s sleep, we were ready for a busy Saturday lineup.

The highlight of the day was hanging out at the Liquid Pool Lounge, one adult-only pool club. We got a cabana with a bottle of vodka and a munchies spread for the group.

We had a blast drinking and dancing in the pool in the afternoon until about 5:00pm Then some of us we took a nap to regroup before donning our party clothes.

Next, we took an Uber to the first stop on our itinerary for the night: the immersive, interactive art installation Fantasy Lab Las Vegas. The hiking experience was tough with lots of fun photo opportunities.

When we left, we were ready to grab some food at Lisa Vanderpump’s cocktail lounge Vanderpump in Paris.

TheT offered the kind of indulgent sharing plates we craved, including a cheese-stuffed birdcage and a truffle-stuffed baguette. By the time we closed in there, it was around 11:30pm

Our group then headed to Encore Beach Club, where Shaquille O’Neal put out a DJ set that started around 1:30am. I then sleepily went back to the hotel, although some of the other girls partied until 5am.

We ended the trip with a big breakfast and a lot of relaxation

The final day’s agenda was simple and packed with food – just what the doctor ordered.

We headed out for a nice Sunday brunch at Caesars Palace Bacchanal Buffetthe biggest buffet in Vegas with hundreds of different dishes. It was truly epic and we got enough food to last us for hours.

After breakfast, we were stuffed, but we made time for one last highlight: We had reserved a pool cabana at Caesars’ Garden of the Gods Pool Oasis, where we could cool off and enjoy the swim up poker bar on the main level.

Finally, a few hours before our flight, we threw covers over our bathing suits, grabbed our checked bags, and headed straight to the airport.
