What inspired Pantone’s 2025 color of the year?
Laurie Pressman and Leatrice Eiseman, executive directors of the Pantone Color Institute, told USA TODAY that the brown shade of Mocha Mousse is meant to create a sense of harmony and warmth. In 2023 and 2024 Pantone chose shades of purple and peach, respectively, reflecting the desire to be celebratory after prolonged COVID-19 lockdowns. Now, the world is ready to embrace a gentler, quieter joy, Pressman and Eiseman explained.
