Happy Saturday! Trying to choose a diet for 2025? Sometimes, it’s better to keep it simple. That’s what Jennifer Aniston does with her 80/20 rule, which is about eating healthy most of the time with some room for indulgence.

On the agenda:

But first: Throw it away. Seriously.

The art of decluttering

It’s my favorite time of year: After Santa delivers all his presents, my house is unrecognizable—but I have a plan for that. It’s time to tap into my inner Marie Kondo and try to reorganize my home.

Before the holidays, I had started purposefully throwing away items I hadn’t used in months. Even the children’s toy basket (OK, well, BASKET) was affected by my obscure bug. If something was broken, it went into the trash bag. don’t worry; My 2 and 5 year old didn’t shed a single tear.

Now I’m making my way from forgotten closet to forgotten closet, finding the things I need and throwing away the things that are no longer useful to me and my family.

Although millennials have a reputation for being minimalists, the truth is that we’ve also bought into the consumerism that makes America what it is, writes journalist Kelli María Korducki. “Millennials haven’t been minimalists in years. In fact, we may never have been minimalists at all,” she says.

For some, downsizing their physical space may not be enough; their digital lives may also need tweaking. That’s what writer Theresa Sam Houghton did after realizing bookmarking apps and unplayed podcast episodes were clogging up her smartphone. She writes that she has now “developed a weekly routine that helps me regularly reign in the digital clutter.”

Are you convinced yet? If not, read this to see how decluttering helped a couple eliminate clutter and $32,000 worth of credit card debt.

The busy social calendar of billionaires

The billionaires follow a fairly consistent schedule, flying their private jets en masse from Davos in January and Sun Valley in July, stopping in Monaco and St. Barts with their superyachts in between.

The billionaire population is sparse, but birds of a feather tend to flock their private jets together. That is, you can usually find them all in the same place.

At the beginning of the year, they descend en masse on Switzerland for the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos. In February, you can spot them at the Super Bowl. Every July they go to a small town in Idaho for the Allen & Company Sun Valley Conference, also known as the billionaire summer camp.

Where the rich mingle.

Netflix on top

If the streamer’s success at the Golden Globes is any indication, 2025 could be the year Netflix finally wins Best Picture at the Academy Awards. But there is no need.

After spending millions of dollars on best-picture campaigns in years past, Netflix has cemented its place in Hollywood as the ultimate leader in the streaming wars. With his attention in other areas — like his live sports promotion — a Best Picture nod for “Emilia Perez” would be a nice addition, but not necessary.

Extra Oscars credit.

You probably aren’t eating enough fiber

Grocery stores are stocking shelves with high-protein versions of the food, but lead nutrition scientist Tim Spector said people who want to improve their diets should focus on eating more fiber than protein. It’s great for gut health and can relieve constipation, among many other things.

The USDA’s Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2020-2025 found that more than 90% of women and 97% of men in the US do not meet the recommended intake of dietary fiber. Spector shared tips for eating enough fiber while also hitting your daily protein goal.

More fiber, please.

When you scroll through social media as a pregnant person, you’re often inundated with a million ways you can make the most of your birth experience. Plus, there’s a growing industry of birth influencers marketing their favorite birth styles—from natural births to ecstasy—through sponsored posts, consulting services, and online courses.

While most of the talk focused on optimizing birth is well-intentioned, how do we give birth—or rather, how do we THINK we will give birth – has become the ultimate way to define and judge ourselves as parents.

The myth of the ‘good birth’.
